This year’s Team Building Night is coming together very well, and I am excited that this might be one of the best ones yet. I have 3 asks for you at the end of this email, but first the update:
We currently have 17 Craftsmanship Awards to be presented!
Our Showcase Award is going to be Wright Patterson AFB. This fits the definition of our Showcase Award perfectly when you consider the years WPAFB has contributed to our local economy, and the construction industry specifically. We are in the process of communicating with WPAFB as to who will be the representative from the Base to receive the Award. And, we have confirmed attendance by Congressman Mike Turner to be a part of the Showcase Award Presentation.
In addition, DBX President Paul Riese has selected Congressman Turner to receive the DBX Presidents Award in recognition of Turner’s excellent representation in Congress and around the world, on behalf of the Dayton area.
Another exciting part of this year’s TBN is the inaugural awarding of the DBX BOLT Award (Building with Local Talent). The DBX Marketing and Membership Committee has been working on this award for over two years. Making sure it was a meaningful award to recognize our local construction talent. Congratulations to Committee Chairman Mike Taylor for leading this charge, as well as all of the Committee Members. The BOLT Award is going to be presented to Shook Construction and the Dayton Public Schools for the Welcome Stadium Renovation Project. Also, all subcontractors will be recognized for their participation in the project and presented with a BOLT certificate. We will be extending an invitation to the Dayton Chamber of Commerce to have a representative at the head table and maybe talk about how BOLT parallels the Chamber Program of “Live Local Be Local” and their motto to “Patronize Where You Live”.
We will also be presenting a DBX Project Manager Award, plus the DBX Safety Awards.
The Miami Valley Construction Industry Apprentice Coordinator Group will be presenting one Foremen of the Year Award. The Masonry Institute of Dayton will be presenting two Excellence In Masonry Awards. And AIA of Dayton will be doing a quick review of their Architectural Excellence Awards.
So, it is going to be a fun event and we will be recognizing a lot of people that have made great contributions to the area’s construction industry.
My 3 asks:
Please reach out to Emily Mandich with any questions regarding registration.
I look forward to seeing you at Carillon Park for our big evening!
