BASIC CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATING CLASS

This 5 week course will be held:

October 22, 2025- November 19, 2025

Wednesdays, 5:30-8:00 pm

This is a virtual class held live over Zoom.

Course Objectives:

Create a project cost estimate, including all markup.
Analyze & calculate the cost components of material pricing
Analyze & determine the hourly cost of labor including burden.
Analyze and calculate the ownership and operation costs for a piece of equipment.
Understand how to calculate building permit, bond, and profit and overhead markups.
Analyze construction documents by performing a quantity takeoff.
Identify ways to avoid errors in estimates.
Define ethics as it relates to estimating.
Understand the basic terms and tools associated with a construction estimate.
Become familiar with tools and computer programs used for the estimating process

Prerequisite: You MUST be able to read blueprints and specifications!
